Professor Spanoudakis is the founder and director of the Software Engineering Group (SE@City) in the School of Informatics at City. Within the broad field of software systems engineering, his current research focuses on service-based systems engineering and software systems security. In the former area, he is interested in the development of frameworks for the dynamic assembling, monitoring and adaptation of service and service based software systems, and the assessment of the trustworthiness, compliance with regulatory frameworks, and governance of service based systems. In the area of software systems security, his work focuses on the assessment of systems security and dependability based on operational evidence, the prediction of potential security and dependability threats, and system certification. In the past his research has also been concerned with requirements engineering, software reuse, the management of conflict in software development activities and artefacts, and software traceability. |
Professor Spanoudakis is the principal investigator of several research projects including the EU Framework 7 projects ASSERT4SOA (Advanced Security Service Certificates for SOA, 2010-13) , S-CUBE (Software, Systems and Services Network of Excellence, 2008-12) and SLA@SOI (Empowering the Service Economy with SLA-aware Infrastructures, 2008-11) , and the EU Framework 6 projects SERENITY (Systems Engineering for Security and Dependability, 2006-08), PEPERS (Mobile Peer-to-Peer Security Infrastructure, 2006-08), SECSE (Service-centric System Engineering, 2004-2008), and GREDIA (2006-2009, co-investigator). In the past, he has been the principal investigator or the EPSRC project IMOOSD (1999-2000) and a co-investigator of the research projects NEVIS (funded by CSW Ltd, 2004) and Requirements Traceability (funded by Philips Research Labs-UK, 2001-02). The total funding of his research is in excess of 4m Euro. Further details of his funded research projects are available. |
Prof. Spanoudakis is a member of the editorial boards of the International Journal of Software Engineering and Knowledge Engineering and the International Journal of Distributed Systems and Technologies. He has also served on the programme committees of more than 80 international conferences and workshops. Currently, he is a member of the programme committees of FASE 2012, ICWS 2012, NTMS 2012, SEKE 2012, ICSOFT 2012, SAPSE 2012, and Intensive 2012. He has also been the programme committee co-chair of SEKE '07 and SEKE '06. |
