Profile
Francesco Pinciroli is Full Professor at Systems Engineering Faculty of Politecnico di Milano, where he teaches Biomedical Informatics, Health Information Systems and Telemedicine, Biolanguages and Bioarchives.He is also a visiting Professor at the Centre for Health Informatics, City university , London.
His research interests cover the areas of medical databases, biosignals and bioimages digital archives, electronic medical records, sustainable privacy of patient digital data, continuing education for healthcare chief information officers.
He has established a long lasting cooperation with Cilea Interuniversity Consortium for Information and Communication Technologies and the Institute for Biomedical Engineering of the Italian National Research Council. He coordinates the Visible Human Dataset Milano Mirror Site, built up as a cooperation between Politecnico di Milano and the US National Library of Medicine. He advises manufacturing companies, as well as public and private hospitals.
He is also active in the international scientific publishing community. He is editor of several books, including the recent Elementi di Informatica BioMedica, translations of which are on the way. He is author of hundreds of scientific papers, appeared also in top level journals.
