Bellogiannis (or Belloyiannis) was an idealist.
He was nick named as "The man with the carnation flower".
Because he was always having a red carnation with him during the
time of his and his girlfriend trials.
He was sentenced to death by greek judges allegedly following orders
by english and american arseholes.
He was executed on first April, 1952.
His girlfriend, Elli, I think, survived.
Didw Swtiriou's book, Entoli, contains some information about these sad moments.
There is also a film made. My father
took me to see it when I was about 10 years old. I think that stuck.
His death sentence shocked even the most hypocritic western observers of the greek happenings.
For fuck's sake man, relax your paranoia leave people alone.
Leave them all alone, they want to live their own lives.

After the liberation of Greece in 1945 from the Nazis, the Greek partisans,
mostly left-wing, were going (thanks to their popularity, guns or what? find out, oh independent observer)
to ascend to power but the english and americans
were never going to accept this, also thanks to Yialta's convention and Stalin's,
Rousvelt's and Churchil's (oh yes this little spineless bastard of a man) agreement on
dividing the world in spheres of influence, preparing for the cold war years.
