Short Biography
|
Dr Christos Kloukinas is a Lecturer (equivalent to an Assistant
Professor in the USA) at the Department of Computing and member of
the Software
Engineering research group.
Christos holds a B.Sc. degree in Computer Science (1994) and an
M.Sc. degree in the fields of Parallel & Distributed Systems and
Machine Vision & Robotics (1997), both from the University of
Crete at Heraklion, Greece. He also holds a Ph.D. degree in
Informatics (2002) from the University of Rennes 1, France.
Before joining City University London, Christos worked as a programmer in the
Machine Vision & Robotics Laboratory, Machine Learning
group of ICS-FoRTH (Heraklion, Greece) and as a researcher in
the PLEIADES - Parallel & Distributed Systems
Laboratory of ICS-FoRTH, the Solidor
research project of IRISA (Rennes, France), the Arles
research project of INRIA-Rocquencourt (Paris, France) and the
Verimag research laboratory (Grenoble, France).
|
Research
|
Christos' principal research interests are in the area of software
engineering and embedded systems, focusing in the development of
methods and tools for the analysis, fine-grain control, optimisation
and implementation of mission-critical and safety-critical, hard
real-time embedded systems.
While at City Christos has been/is currently involved as an investigator in the SLA@SOI, SeCSE, Serenity and
Pepers research
projects.
Before joining City, Christos was an investigator in the MLT,
Lydia, C3DS, DSoS,
AMETIST and OMEGA European research projects, in the
Expresso French RNTL research project and in the
TinAster (France Telecom R&D) and
ANACONDA (STMicroelectronics) industry-funded
research projects.
|
Scheme/Course Directorship
|
Christos is the current Scheme Director for the Technical Scheme of Postgraduate Courses, which includes the MSc in Computer Games Technology and the MSc in Software Engineering, for which he is also the Course Director.
In February 25, 2009, Graduate Prospects run an article on the MSc in Software Engineering course at City University London.
|
Supervision & Other Professional Activities
|
Among others, Christos has co-supervised Mr Viet Khoi
Nguyen during the development of a software tool for the
description and analysis of Software Architectures in a UML framework
and Mr Guillaume Salagnac in his M.Sc. thesis, which
dealt with automated management of dynamic memory for embedded
systems. Also supervised Mr Alexandros Achillefs in
the development of a model-checker for the BPEL language, based on
the SPIN model-checker and Stewart Cope on the organisation and
searching of Firefox bookmarks using user-specified tags.
Christos was in the programme committe of the IASTED-SE06 international conference and the publicity chair of the SEKE 2006 international conference. Christos has also served as a reviewer/sub-reviewer for the CAV04, DATE03/04/05, ECRTS04, EMSOFT04, EW02, FIDJI03, ICSE03, RTAS04, RV04, TACAS03 and WADS03 conferences, as well as for the journals ACM Transactions on Embedded Computing Systems, Elsevier Journal of Software and Systems, IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems and Technique et Science Informatiques - Hermès Science. |
